Turtles All the Way Down is the eagerly awaited fifth album by US-based progressive rock and metal band Odin's Court. After releasing four diverse albums on ProgRock Records internationally, including the widely praised album Deathanity, Odin’s Court decided to release their latest album independently through their own label D2C Studios.

Turtles All the Way Down is a concept album that deals with ideas and questions relating to the entire universe - how did it start, where is it going, what makes it tick, what is its purpose, etc. - from the point of view of the individual's mind. It deals with mankind's quest for knowledge, and how that knowledge changes. New discoveries often change humanity's understanding or turn perceptions upside down, sometimes making long held beliefs immaterial. The title refers to the idiom that references “infinite recursion” or in layman's terms, “what came first: the chicken or the egg?”

Turtles All the Way Down draws from inspirations such as Dream Theater, Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, Devin Townsend, HIM, King’s X, Iron Maiden, and Queen, but retains its own self-identity and sound. Stylistically, the songs come across as “accessible,” but they still have intricacies for the technical music lover. The vocal melodies and harmonies are catchy, often interweaving in and out of each other. Compare to past Odin’s Court albums, the sound is refined with a balance of modern and classic vibes, while still retaining the band’s signature sound. The addition of a new singer with powerful vocals, combined with the more mature song writing and production, has taken the band’s sound to the “next level.”

The press has universally praised the album thus far, as summed up by one reviewer’s statements: “a truly impressive effort, with solid songwriting and outstanding musicianship. Terrific melodic prog/metal that gets better with every listen!”
